Presidential History
A lifelong fascination with history and biography led to my interest in the U.S. Presidents. I share my birthday with George Washington, was raised in Ohio, which claims more presidents than any other state, and attended Garfield Elementary in Toledo, where I was on November 22, 1963 when President Kennedy was assassinated. After visiting FDR's home in Hyde Park, NY in 1979, my interest in the presidents grew. Since then, I have visited homes and/or museums for 28 presidents, the gravesites of 35 presidents (all except for Ford, Eisenhower, and T. Roosevelt), and a host of other historical presidential sites including Ford's Theatre in Washington DC, the Texas Book Depository in Dallas, Fort Meigs in Perrysburg OH (where Gen. William Henry Harrison served as commander), and Union College in Schenectady NY (where there is a courtyard and statue in honor of alumnus Chester Arthur).
While there are literally thousands of websites with information about the presidents, a good place to start is the C-Span American Presidents site. Here you can find links to Presidential Libraries, Museums, and Gravesites, plus you can view the award-winning American Presidents: Life Portraits video series from 1999-2000.

This is one of my favorite presidential photos. President Kennedy is shaking hands with young
Bill Clinton, when they met at a Boys State convention in 1963.
